Considering LOTC Tennis? Things to know!

The season lasts from September through May. Teams play about 16 matches per year, half of the matches are played at LOTC and half are played away at other tennis facilities. All play is indoors. Teams are divided into levels (A-K & Seniors) based on playing skills so there are opportunities for every level of player. Levels A-F plays on Wednesdays, G-K plays on Tuesdays, Seniors team generally plays on Thursdays. Matches start at 11:30 AM and last for approximately three hours. Each match consists of four doubles matches and one singles match. Approximately 20 tennis facilities from around the greater Portland area participate in City League with almost 100 teams and approximately 1,750 players.

Fees for participating in LOTC City League include court times for matches and one team practice per week with a tennis pro. The participation costs vary by team but the average is about $300 per half-season.

To participate in Greater Portland City League Tennis, you must be 19 years old by September 1st of the participating year.
