The Lake Oswego Tennis Center currently fields eight Greater Portland City League tennis teams. City League tennis provides an opportunity for women to play competitive tennis…. while enjoying lunch.
The season lasts from September through May. Teams play about 16 matches per year, half of the matches are played at LOTC and half are played at played away. All play is indoors. Teams are divided into levels (A-K) based on playing skills so there are opportunities for every level of player. Levels A-F play on Wednesdays and G-K play on Tuesdays. Matches generally start around noon and last for approximately three hours. Each match consists of five doubles matches and one singles match. Currently 20 tennis facilities from around the greater Portland area participate in City League with almost 100 teams and approximately 1,750 players.
Fees for participating in LOTC City League include court times for matches and one team practice per week with a pro. The participation costs may vary by team but the average is about $300 per half season.
